How It Works

Step 1 — Import Your Resume

Start by importing your existing resume as a PDF. Simply drag and drop your file or select it from your computer. The AI automatically analyzes the structure of your document and extracts your skills, work experience, education, and contact information.

The system recognizes different sections of your resume, even if they're presented in an unconventional format. Your data is structured and ready to be optimized in just seconds.

Once the import is complete, you'll find your entire background in an intuitive online editor. You can verify that all information was correctly extracted before moving to the next step.

Step 2 — AI Generation

Paste the link to the job posting you're targeting. The AI analyzes the posting's content: required skills, mentioned technologies, expected soft skills, and specific job requirements. Based on this analysis, it generates a version of your resume tailored to that specific posting.

You can target up to 10 job postings simultaneously. FitMyCV then generates 10 versions of your resume, each optimized for a different posting. Multi-posting processing runs in parallel for maximum time savings.

The AI never fabricates fictional content. It rephrases, reorganizes, and highlights your real skills based on what the recruiter is looking for. Your background remains true to reality.

Step 3 — Review Changes

Each AI-suggested change is presented as a diff, similar to a code review tool. You clearly see the before and after for each modified section: experience, skills, professional summary.

Accept, reject, or adjust each suggestion individually. You maintain full control over the final content of your resume. No change is applied without your explicit approval.

Step 4 — Match Score

An algorithm evaluates the match between your resume and the targeted job posting. The score takes into account technical skills, relevant keywords, ATS structure, and the overall fit of your profile with the job requirements.

The score is displayed as a percentage with a category-by-category breakdown. You see exactly which aspects of your resume match the posting and which areas can be improved. Each optimization updates the score in real time.

Step 5 — Targeted Optimization

The AI provides concrete recommendations to improve your match score. Each suggestion is ranked by impact (high, medium, low) and explains precisely what to add or modify in your resume.

Select the suggestions that match your real profile and add your own notes. The AI then regenerates the relevant sections incorporating your choices. Your match score increases with each applied optimization.

Step 6 — Final Review

Review all applied optimizations and verify the final result. Your match score reflects all the improvements made. You can still adjust any section via the online editor.

This step lets you make sure your resume is exactly how you want it before export. Every change is traceable and reversible.

Step 7 — PDF / Word Export

Preview your finalized resume in the format of your choice. Export is available in PDF and Word (.docx), ready to attach to an application or upload to a job platform.

The format is optimized for ATS systems: clean layout, readable fonts, standard structure. Your resume passes automated filters while remaining elegant and professional for human recruiters.
